Gaddis Park

Gaddis Park

Mamie and Francis Gaddis Park is a hidden gem and a natualist’s paradise located along Jewett Creek at the east end of Spring St. in the NE corner of White Salmon. It is an enchanting little woodland of white oaks sloping gently toward the creek and often shaded from the sun. It’s quite private in its tucked away setting, but it’s also pretty disheveled and unkempt due to past storm damage and limited upkeep.

Jewett Creek Streamkeepers adopted the park several years ago and installed a native plants trail. Since then the park has fallen into disrepair, especially after the ice storm of 2012 which caused a lot of downed trees and debris. Some clean-up has been done since then, but a lot of work still needs to be done to bring the park up to its potential glory.
