About the Police Department

The City of White Salmon is located in the heart of the Columbia Gorge.  The Bingen-White Salmon Police Department is a full service municipal police agency serving the city of White Salmon and Bingen. The Department employs seven certified police officers which includes the Chief and five Patrol Officers, an Office Manager and Police Clerk.

The Bingen-White Salmon Police Department's fundamental duty is to serve the community; to safeguard lives and property; to protect the innocent against deception, the weak against oppression or intimidation and the peaceful against violence or disorder; and to respect the constitutional rights of all to liberty, equality and justice. Our goal is to live our Mission everyday and continue to maintain our community’s trust.

Mission Statement:

The Bingen-White Salmon Police Department pride ourselves in reducing the incidence and fear of crime, ensuring justice, and safeguarding the rights of all, to provide for a safe and vibrant community.

The Bingen-White Salmon Police Department will accomplish this by working in partnership with the community we serve to enhance our law enforcement  effectiveness.
