Background:

The CityLab Board serves as a vehicle to harness our community’s collective energy towards continually focusing policy proposals and initiatives back to achieving the core aims as outlined in the comprehensive plan, and in particular, key visioning documents adopted by the city council: the Climate Crisis Resolution (Resolution 2021-03-517) and the Diversity Resolution (Resolution 2019-06-489).

In March 2021, the City of White Salmon declared a climate crisis. The resolution recognized that from our city to our planet, we are facing an unprecedented change in global temperature that requires action.

For questions about the CityLab Board please email CityLab@whitesalmonwa.gov

The CityLab Board is tasked with recommending how White Salmon should respond to the climate crisis and ensure the city considers how to improve the inclusion and connectedness of all residents, particularly communities of color.

The CityLab Board shall consist of up to ten members, including two city council members and three City of White Salmon residents. The remaining five members may consist of residents of the city or in the White Salmon Urban Exempt Area, Columbia Gorge tribal representatives, high school students, or other regionally appropriate stakeholders (within Washington). All shall be appointed by the mayor with the approval of the council.

If interested in applying to the board, please contact the Mayor at mayor@whitesalmonwa.gov or apply online HERE.
